Milan's father died in an accident and his mother abandoned him to remarry, leaving him with his grandmother, Tirsabati. It is common in India for stepparents to reject their spouse's children. Tirsabati receives a pension of $4 a month and is unable to provide for Milan. He was malnourished when Tirsabati brought him to us, asking for help. Now with us, he currently dreams of being a policeman in the future.
