Charlene Dawna Jane Kroeker
(1996-2018)
Charlene loved life and lived it to the full. She loved children and baby animals. There was joy and fun when Charlene walked into a room. She was happy and always had a smile on her face. She loved to act silly and do crazy things with her friends.
Charlene loved Jesus most of all. He was her Saviour and Friend. Her faith was the source of Charlene’s passion to help others, that is why she was studying to be a Registered Nurse. She relished the opportunity of helping others when they were at their lowest or in need.
Charlene’s desire was to work in the emergency ward of a hospital; she wanted to be able to tell people about Jesus if their lives were in jeopardy.
Charlene did end up in an emergency ward, but not the way she wanted or planned. She was the patient instead of being the caregiver. Charlene made a big impact at the hospital, even though she was the patient and not the nurse. Her family was able to tell everyone about Jesus: about how He loves them and how He will be with them, even when things are rough and unexplained. Charlene was in a terrible car accident and died as a result of her injuries.
Charlene left behind a legacy of love, acceptance, endurance and the love of Jesus.
Charlene would be honoured to have this playground dedicated in her memory. She would want each child to know about the love of Jesus and the joy that He brings to each life.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
